ODM/OEM knowledge

An RFQ checklist for home appliances

A good RFQ helps a manufacturer understand the same brief and ask the right questions early. You do not need every answer, but should distinguish decisions already made from open questions.

Product and market information

Describe users, intended use, operating environment, sales market, and distribution channel. Include known mandatory requirements for safety, performance, labeling, language, and documentation.

Specifications, volume, and timing

Attach available drawings, references, or specifications; state their revision and unresolved points. Share sample volume, initial order, and forecast if available, plus target sample or delivery dates. These figures support feasibility review and do not automatically become commitments.

Commercial and branding scope

State whether you expect OEM, ODM, or private label, and note customization, branding, packaging, accessories, delivery terms, and confidentiality needs. If undecided, mark it for discussion rather than assuming.

Keep attachments clear and versioned

Use clear filenames, identify revisions, and avoid sending multiple indistinguishable versions.

Name a response contact

Identify someone who can answer technical questions and confirm decisions.
